Regular cleaning of your Keuring is essential to ensure your machine lasts for years to come and to ensure your coffee tastes as good as the first brew. For best results, it is recommended to clean and condition your machine every 3-6 months.
If the coffee machine is left running for more than six months before it is cleaned or cleaned, it can cause limescale build-up. Limestone can cause the coffee to taste bad and shorten the life of the machine.
There are two different Keurig filters to consider. The first is a reusable coffee filter for my K-Cup. For best results, your reusable K-Cup filter should be emptied and cleaned after each use.

If you notice scale deposits inside your Keurig water tank, the first step is to remove the tank and clean it with warm, soapy water. Gently scrub the limescale with a soft sponge. Mineral deposits also indicate that you should clean your Keurig machine regularly.

Ways To Descale A Keurig
After rinsing the soap from the water reservoir, fill the reservoir with a mixture of water and distilled white vinegar and unplug your Keurig machine. The vinegar cleaning should remove calcium deposits left over from the first cleaning cycle.
Remove the front filter from the Keurig water. Lift the water tank out of place and remove the water filter handle. Open the water filter by separating the lower and upper filter holder from the filter and discard the replaceable front filter.
Soak your new water filter card in water for five minutes. Then rinse the potatoes under cold water for 60 seconds. Replace the old cartridge with the new one and reassemble the filter handle. Put the water tank back in the socket and put the water filter back in the tank. Press firmly to snap the handle back into place.
If you see mold on your Keurig or inside the water tank, it’s a clear sign that you need to get better at cleaning your machine. It also means it’s time to deep clean your brew.
How To Clean A Keurig Coffee Maker (and Maintain It, Too)
First, remove all removable parts from your machine, such as the water tank and drip tray. Put this in a mixture of equal parts water and a splash of white vinegar. Allow these items to soak for a few minutes before scrubbing with a toothbrush to remove mold.
After cleaning and washing these parts, take a second to wipe down the outside of your machine and make sure it’s clean. Replace the drip tray and reservoir with water and fill the reservoir with a mixture of equal parts water and distilled white vinegar. Create a cycle to reduce your machine and remove mold inside your coffee.
While it may be tempting to use bleach or something stronger to remove mold, distilled white vinegar is your best bet. Bleach is strong and caustic and can damage the integrity of your machine. In addition, it can be harmful to your health if you do not properly wash the bleach out of your machine.
To reset your Keurig, first open and close the level. Next, turn off and disconnect your engine and remove the water tank (see removal instructions above). Finally, replace the water tank, plug the machine back into the wall and press the power button. Your Keurig should now be working properly.
